Sir, I say, Sir Alexander Davison!

Imagine my excitement to find that we had a Sir in our family. Sir Alexander Davison was born in 1565 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England.

He participated in the Siege of Newcastle from February to October 1644 during the 1st English Civil War.

The Scots army under Lord General Leslie crossed into England in January 1644. The Scots had previously occupied the city during the 2nd Bishops War in 1640 and were therefore able to control the area coal trade.

Golden Rule: He with the gold (coal) rules.
